A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THE CONFLICT IN DARFUR, SUDAN
--- North American Resistance Committee (NARC)
Tribalism has been a destructive force in neo-colonialist destabilization of Africa, not just in Sudan, but Rwanda and The Congo stand out. Before going any further, we must remind our readers that the overall antagonistic contradiction is with imperialism and Zionism. Moving scenes of near-starving people committing mass carnage and war crimes against one another cannot be properly understood without getting directly at its source.
Both Black Africa and the Arab nation have been direct targets of the enemy for fragmentation via fratricidal violence and destabilization schemes. The enemy’s hand in Sudan is particularly nasty.
Now to Dar Fur: EVERYONE on ALL sides is Black and virtually all of them are deeply religious practicing Sunni Muslims. The idea that light-skinned Syrian-looking Arabs are colonizing Africa European-style is laughable and stems from the failure of many peoples in the West to understand that Arabism is a culture and not per se a phenotype. Simply do an internet search of “Janjaweed militia” and you will see pictures of distinctly Black-looking Arab people with deep roots in Sudan, not invaders.
Sudan was carved up by the European colonialists in such a way that the Zarghawa tribe was cut off from fellow tribesmen in Chad. This creates the reactionary framework of wanting to carve up Sudan. Malicious chauvinism on all sides coupled with crippling poverty, starvation and famine has exasperated the situation.
To make matters worse, the usurping Zionist entity, France and the United States have all played a hand in destabilizing hopes for a strong centralized anti-imperialist Sudanese state. Such a strong centralized state is necessary to advance viable models of economic development against neo-colonialist plunder.
Nomadic herders are pitted against sedentary farmers on arid soil with a lack of adequate water. Primitive modes of development that have been outmoded elsewhere are the reality. Industry, higher education, adequate nutrition, health care and quality housing are virtually non-existent. Frantz Fanon’s “Wretched of the Earth '' are thrown against each other in a quest for individual survival against overwhelming odds.
Atrocities, chauvinism and separatist movements must be put to bed. Sudan is both an Arab and an African country without distinction between them.
Most of all, Islam is at the core of Sudanese psychology. The unitary project for healing in Sudan stems from the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his manhaj or methodology of uniting Bani Aws with Bani Khazraj during the early Islamic State.
Western leftists and other anti-imperialists around the world have little to no place in building a viable and prosperous peace. The best thing these comradely brothers and sisters can do is to work against neo-colonialism at home and directly confront the Zionist enemy’s attempt to exacerbate the situation.
